Default A semi-budget 939 socket computer

Ok I am building a backup computer well because I can...lol. My mom upgraded and I am wondering why not overclock since I can.

What I have:
320 GB WD ide hdd
768mb ddr333 ram
Case
DVD-rw drive
AMD 3800+ single core
cables/fan

What I need:
Motherboard that can overclock
Heatsink

What I am unsure on:
I have an enermax psu that I was going to upgrade an old hp(before I really knew much), I put in a ram stick and the psu, and the computer never booted again, not even to the bios. Turns out the ram slots weren't being recognized by the board. Which means that the psu is bad or I static shocked the board. But I am nervous of reusing that psu. Its a Enermax 300w or 350w. It has plenty of power but only a 20pin which I am not sure 939 can run on.
EDIT: psu is ENERMAX EG301P-VB-1-FM ATX12V 300W Power Supply

So what do you think, any chance I can get this up and running, and overclock it to hell?

Well you can always jump the PSU to see if it turns on, lol.

Overclocking motherboards for 939 that I know of:
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe
DFI Lanparty nf4
Abit something err rather (txtmstrjoe knows this one well)

And I see no reason why you shouldn't get it running again. 939 is not a dead socket just yet since it can still keep up with lower end C2D setups and any AM2 setup. However make sure you match the sticks of RAM you're using...that will limit your OC if you don't.

So I need two 512 sticks? Not a 512 and a 256. Currently I only have the 512, but my friend is supposed to find my other stick that he "borrowed" almost 2 years ago lol.

How do I jump the psu and how dangerous is it. I thought about just taking it to best buy and having them check it while I laugh at it frying their computer LOL.

You can jump it by connecting the green and a black wire together with a staple or something. Then plug it into the wall see if it turns on. Not the best of tests....but it shows if it powers on or not.

And overclocking 939's its best to have matching pairs of RAM..meaning same brand, same timings, same capacity.

You didn't answer my "how dangerous is that" also are there any risks of damage to the psu doing that?

Sorry didn't see that...little bit drunk ATM.

There's no damage to it just so long as you jump it unplugged. Then plug it in after the jump is applied. I've done it with TONS of PSU units as have many other users here at OCN. Let me check a spare PSU just to make sure I told you the proper colors though.
