Default Build to Be?

How does the setup for my sig rig look? Pretty solid, huh?
Altogether ~$1500 new. I might buy a lot of parts used off of here, like cooling.

Unless you really want a phenom because you want to remain loyal to AMD, for $1500 you could get a far better performing intel setup.

For intel, you could get a DS3L for $80 and a Q6600 for $250. It's around the same price as the 9600 and Asus M3A put together, but you'll be getting better performance, and it'll overclock far higher.

I'd also go with a bigger cpu cooler than that CF900. Maybe a thermalright ultra 120 extreme or a tuniq tower?

If you're looking to turn to intel (Gah...even I am) I could put you together a nice build for $1500. Just give me the nod

Phenom prices should drop soon, right? When comparing the 9600 and the Q6600, the price/performance leans towards AMD, right? This would be if the 9600 drops below $200, and the Q6600 stays up there. (BTW, any current comparison theads for the Phenom vs. Q6XXX?)I mean, I'm all for switching when my money is gathered, I just want the best bang for my buck.

Also, I want to make use on the side air duct included with the case I selected, which is why I chose that cooler.

EDIT: I just read some reviews.... looks like it's intel for me. At least as far as I know.

I've always been led to believe AMD was more bang for your buck, and Intel was just more bang, Period. If I had $1500, however, I would go with Intel.

Judging by prices, it would appear Intel has more bang for the buck than AMD when it comes to Phenom vs. C2Q, though.
