Socket 939 Opteron LCB9E 0652WPMW was always a good chip. As a young chip Opty said "goodbye!" to mom and dad

and he was shipped off to sunny Jacksonville Florida, where he was excited to become part of his first computer!

He did his best to keep his owner happy, easily overclocking to 2.7GHz with crappy ram and a total noob oc'er behind the wheel.

But the owner was not satisfied by the young Opty's efforts. The owner converted to the dark side after just 5 months of use of Opty.

Lonely and dejected, Opty was relegated to waiting, in hopes that one day he would be appreciated and make his owner proud again.

"Where will this story take me next?" wondered young Opty. Well it just so happend, his owner was wondering just the same thing!

Yes, this is weird. Opty is indeed all alone and quite pensive about the future. Hopefully the story has a happy ending, stay tuned?

If by "following the light" you mean stopped supporting the "little guy" and selling out to the big corporate machine just for a few lousey frames per second that will go unnoticed because they're above my monitor's refresh rate anyway while knowing that my shift may well lead to ending the technological competition that led to such amazing advances in the first place....

Actually, if the intent of this thread is to tell a story of how this orphaned Opteron rediscovers his calling, then it's brilliant, I'd say.

I'd get it from ya but I already have a 170 and a DFI NF4 expert board. I just need to get a case and HDD so I can make it a 24/7 folder.
