Default Ultra Cheap X2 spare gaming rig

lol, ok, so i only just thought of this, THE DAY I LOSE MY JOB! so as soon as i get another job, ill spend spend spend

I want to build a second gaming rig for my mate for when he comes around for gaming sessions.

This rig will only be used for games such as:

*Heroes OF Might and magic V
*Diablo II
*Source Games

so therefor this rig does not need to be "all powerfull"

i have a monitor, keyboard and mouse etc.

this is what i have come up with, lemme know what you think?

PRICES ARE AUD

AM2 X2 4200+ -$80

M2N-Mx-se+ -$59 Specs

2x1gb Kingston DDR-2 PC6400 "oem value i think" -$51

8600GT 512Mb -$86

Thermaltake Matrix case W/430w PSU -$99

LiteOn 20x DVD -$36

Segate 320Gb HDD -$87

Total -$498

I dont think it looks half bad

EDIT: ok so the link for the pic for the case wont work, so here it is shrunk down:

sorry to hear you lost your job, hope you bounce back quick!

That would be a great 2nd system for a buddy to come over and play on. I'd try to pick up a 9600GT though, you can find some of them pretty cheap now or soon enough they will go less.

Ya for $86 I would find a good used something or other here, you could easily find a 7900GS or 7900GT, and if your putting xp on it then dx10 makes no difference.

oh Austrailia, I didn't see your location. Might change things a bit, we American's are spoiled by newegg Yeah if you could pick up a 7900GS or 7950 used would be really good and better than the 8600.

And like Hauntsheep suggests both the 3850 or 3870 are good cards and might be found for decent price also.

I don't know the exact exchange rate, but they are like $75-100 for 7900GT in dollars. In fact I have seen 7900GS's go for $70 shipped...don't know what that exchange is though or if they would ship to you. I am just saying used might be an option.

70USD is about 76 AUD, then you have postage on top of that. thats where the killer is
