Hmm, I think 8GB of memory is extremely excessive. 2GB is fine for now, 4GB is future proofing. 8GB just isn't needed. Remember, more memory doesn't improve performance at all if it's not being used! And 4x2GB can weaken your overclock.

What PSU, CPU HSF, case, and DVD drive are you using?

And just a thought, but with the new Phenoms around the corner, maybe just get a cheap $45 X2 4000+ to hold you over then go quad core?

thats my new system i just upgraded from a 4600+ i didnt see the point in getting a phenon just yet so i got a board that supports them just incase 700wat jeantech modular power supply, stock cooler, just a standard case, lite on dvd rw drive.

8gb may be expensive but was cheap enuf so.

i turned off the pageing file so it would use the memory was gna set up a raid for my os (2x160 gb drives) but havent had the chance yet.
