Wow, after years of building systems from secondhand parts, I was finally able to build something that is CURRENT Technology! Well... I had a couple things old but no need to updated EVERYTHING
X2 5000+ Black Edition = $84 Gigabyte GA-M57 SLI S4 = $99 Corsair XMS2 4GB Kit = $119 Cooler Master Centurion 5 Case = $49 Cooler Master 500w PSU = $49 Tuniq Tower 120 = $59 WD 250GB SATAII = Already Own EVGA 7950GT KO = $90 (+1 for Craigslist) Samsung 20x DVDRW SATA = $29 22" LCD Widescreen Acer = Already Own ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- TOTAL: $529 before Taxes and Rebates. $489 after Rebates ![]() NOW, I WAS considering going C2D with a 2180, BUT I have faith in AMD that they will come out with something awesome for the AM2+ platform, hence my choice in the AM2/+ board! ![]() I'm not huge into gaming aside from a little WoW and HL2, here and there. No reason to spend $250+ on an 8800 series, when the 7950 will do me just fine, and if I ever decide I need a little more horsepower, I'd probably just run Dual 7950's, but WoW on HIGH doesn't need that much.

Nice for the price
![]() If you ever add a second 7950, you'll need a somewhat beefier PSU though. But for now, excellent choices I think.

which cooler master psu is that? they have one w/o ovp (overvolt protection) when the psu goes bad it will likely take out some of ur components. i bought a psu w/o ovp from craiglist i use it for testing only powering on componets outside of case etc..) but never in a rig running 24/7.

Great, man!
Try to get another HDD, same model down the road. The only downside is the motherboard, possibly. Is PCIE 2.0 backwards compatible? can you put a 2.0 card in a 1.0 slot? Later on, upgrade options would be limited to the PCIE 1.0 8800 series.
