Default Build Log: cheap All-In-One

the all in ones are either over $1k or crappy parts. How about a $500 one that is a decent computer?

AMD X2 5000+ BE -$77
what mATX motherboard is decent?
INWIN 300W low profile PSU -$25
pci-e riser/extender (allows for sideways GFX adding little height) -$5
7600GT (options to upgrade GFX, what is a better one slot card with relatively mild power consumption)
Custom Linux Distro (working on a LFS build right now, might end up just using Ubuntu)
tv tuner - $30
19" Widescreen LCD -$160

parts so far $300+GFX+MOBO+SHEET METAL ALUMINUM for back casing

assuming maybe $10 of sheet metal aluminum

what GFX/MOBO for $190 ($500 build total)
and
what GFX/MOBO for $90 ($400 build total)
and
what GFX/MOBO for $290 ($600 build total)

thanks

edit: i might start selling these for $100 above build cost. (to other college students looking for something more powerful than their lappy and good for the dorm.) i mean my rig pretty much eats up my room space lol

is the mobo i will use for all of them. ATI Radeon HD 2100 with HDMI, DVI, and VGA so its pretty nice, 8ch onboard (real 8ch not the fake-like make the mic port a line out stuff)

8800GT eVGA (awesome card as you all know, single slot thickness will be used for the $600 build total model

ASUS 9600GSO, which pretty much owns the price/performance arena, is what i will use for the $500 build total model

planning on selling for $100 more than build cost. (e.g - $500,600,700) and not to people like you guys lol so don't flame.

If you're looking for a decent mATX mobo, go with the 780G chipset. It will cost you 80+ though.

dude i should do that when i get to college, build cheap decent oced computer bases and sell them for additional 100, nice idea thnx...

ok to you now, id say get a board that can support hybrid crossfire, just for them, just in case they want to game and upgrade to a mainstream card(to get Hybrid CX), but the gigabyte board is nice, asus is also fine too, good choices overall

it's tougher than it seems. I tried doing that, but a common trend among college students is the fact that we want everything cheap... you will have to find a kid who is a PC/Gamer enthusiest. And the price has to be low, bc thier parents will most likely not help them out (assuming they have just purchased a new laptop).
