The best and most relaible sata 150 raid controller i have used and currently use is the Netcell revolution 5 port sata 150 controller... It can handle 4 drives in raid 0, 1 or 3. If the 5th port is used it automatically goes into raid 3. I have dropped a drive in my 5 drive raid on this controller and I successfully rebuilt the array while the comp was running. I would swear by these controlers as very affordable (about $25 a peice) and very reliable. You can take the card and array out and stick it in another comp without any degredation of the array. this controller allows array migration from your 2 drive raid up to the maximum of 5 drives without an issue. they can be found on Ebay, but are no longer being produced. This card also will support 5 x 500 gb drives for a maximum 2tb array with redundency.
