I think a better solution would have been with your original components to run the mobo up one side of the pyramid and have the HD and PSU on the other side and have intake fans at the bottom and exhaust fans at the tip of the pyramid.

The only problem is that a micro-ATX with a 25cm width. To make a 25x25cm square fit a triangle (a pyramid face) it would take something like a 50cm sided equilateral triangle for a pyramid height of around 45cm (half a meter almost). That is huge...

All this to say that is practically impossible within a fit-into-library format of around ~30cm. The only acceptable solution would be a certain mobo, the J&W Minix - 780G w128MB sideport memory and PCIe slot in a mini-ITX format, but they are almost impossible to find.

Thanks for the thought tho, this is a viable option, but only with a smaller than a mini-ITX mobo, because even the 17cm of the itx force a base width of 36-38 cm with all the tolerances included.

Didn't even think about that. That is a good point though.

Thanks Odyn, the thing is that since a few weeks ago I'm trying to contact J&W to see if they can ship me a motherboard, since they don't have any retailer selling their mobos in Fr.

The guys at J&W were very nice at first. Although I said I only want one motherboard, they answered the mails promptly. All went well, but when I asked them the price they asked how many 5x mobo packs do I need. I said I don't need X packs of mobos, I only want one.... I'm still waiting for them to answer that mail that is dated 5 days ago.

The salesmen from J&W seem to dislike anyone that buys less than a case of mobos. To think I actually contacted a few retailers to ask if they would consider selling J&W mobos.

Anyhow, Albatron licenced this mobo and are selling under their brand:

Maybe they have better marketing skills

I just found a review of another mini-ITX mobo, this time a LGA 775, Zotac based on nV 610i (never heard of this chipset).

I just hope until the end of the year I'll finally be able to find a mini-ITX mobo at a decent price. I'm not gonna get an ATOM or NANO mobo, mostly because of their lowly chipsets that don't accelerate HD content.

This is exactly what I was searching; this mobo is launched since 6 months ago and only now it shows up in retail.
Thanks for the tip
