Please no comments about how a Q6600 would perform better, I am posting this in the AMD section on purpose .

I am a little unsure about the motherboard, I was just trying to pick a 780G board that supported the 9850BE Phenom because I want to try Hybrid Crossfire with the IGP/Radeon 4850.

The reason I picked that case, is because it's also the one I am currently using and I like it, but I would like to hear some suggestions there.

So comments, suggestions?

Nice build.

Hybrid Crossfire is overrated [~7fps increase in games ], for such high-end CPU I'd rather get a better mobo, MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 is all good. Don't forget to get a good CPU cooler since all BE CPUs come fanless , I recommend OCZ Vendetta 2 or XIGMATEK HDT-S963. Regarding the case, its all comes back depending on your budget. Personally, I dig Antec P182 and COOLER MASTER RC-690. The PSU is a bit an overkill, even for a crossfirex configuration go no more than 550 Watt. PC Power & Cooling and SeaSonic are some of the best brands out there. The rest is all good. Go for it tiger

Thanks for the tips- I was considering the Hybrid Crossfire not only for the performance boost, but also the power savings. Are you sure about the BE's being fanless- newegg seems to say it comes with a heat sink and fan, athough I wouldnt be surprised if this was wrong. I think i'll take your advice and see if I cant save a few bucks on the powersupply. Other than the Hybrid Crossfire, I have no plans for 2x,3x, or 4x Crossfire.

hybrid crossfire isn't really worth it, I guess if it's there go ahead and use it though.

+1 on toning down the power supply. use the extra money for a bigger HDD, or a zalman 9700

Just FYI, Buy.com has a decent selection of Corsair PSU's (ranging from 450 to 1000 Watts), and they are usually priced cheaper than Newegg and a number of other online retailers.

I just bought a Corsiar TX750W from there, myself.

No reason, it was just one of the cheaper motherboards that supported the X4 9850.
My 9850BE came with a stock HSF (its like the opteron HSF), but I bought a Xigmatek HDT and its an amazing cooler. If you do decide on a ATX motherboard i'd suggest the DFI 790FX its a great board for the price and it got my 9850 to 3ghz (till i had to RMA it b/c of a bad core >.<)

If possible I say wait for the new motherboards that will have the SB750. I heard it OC much better than normal one.
