Heres my picks

I went a little over but this would perform quite nicely.

Well with my build you could overclock that proc to around 3.8ghz fairly easily with that cooler.

Okay I switched up mine to an amd dual core. That cooler works on am2 socket so I kept that, and switched the processor to a 3.2ghz amd dual and changed the board to a nice looking gigabyte one.

my build ftw! eh i just read that you wont really oc much, but how about a 45w cpu? like the one i offered, you have alot of options hope you can pick a build, not necessarily a specific build, but maybe mix and match them, good luck

well, im gonna keep track of the process of the build, mainly because its my first "real" build (i dont count repairing old comps)

btw, i might have 1000-1200 to spend if i wait a while longer, which seems like a good idea to me

anything you can add on in that price range?

If you can wait, lots of people who are thinking of upgrading to the quad core Phenom's are waiting for the newer revision chips, might want to see what those prices are when the time comes to upgrade, you could easily build a smokin' quad core rig with 1100-1200 bucks.
