Default So here we go...

I have just started to piece together my second build, and I was wondering what everyone here thinks of it. I have been reading through the forums, and it seems there are a lot of very knowledgeable people here. My first build was a decent success until it finally died about three years after it was born. I plan to actually try over clocking this one as compared to my last build.

CPU - 9950BE, so far it seems like the OC ability is amazing http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103273

MoBo - MSI K9A2 Plat, only one recommended by AMD for the power hungry 9950... but it does look like a great mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130136

Memory - G. Skill 4g (2x2g)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166

GPU - DIAMOND 4850
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814103060

Case - Screw the thermal problems with ATI 4800s with the Antec 900
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129021

Now thats what I plan on buying,

I already have

HD - WD Raptor 150g

PSU - Nspire 500w http://store1.alrightdeals.com/Commo...Supply___51385

I will be using Windows Xp Pro for the time being...

I also already have the CD drives and such, but what I am wondering is mainly about the GPU and the CPU. I know ATI has had thermal/driver probs, but for the money you really can't beat em.

Also, I would just like to know your comments on the ability to OC the Memory and processor. Any help is much appreciated!!

Everything is looking pretty good, though if I may suggest, try to pick up a new PSU. You're going to want one with cables on the long side for that Antec 900. Not to mention you can't have too many amps on your PSU :-)

Well, I know the Antec 900 might be a bit of an overkill, so if anyone has suggestions on cases let me have them. and PSUs for that matter

I have had great success with my Corsair 550VX. Very solid unit and well priced. If you plan on eventually using Crossfire, the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 is one of the best for high-power, budget-minded PSU's. Other than that, I'd say go with what you've got.

which sounds like it should give me enough power and save me a little money

those aren't bad! I will look into those, just one last thing what ATI manufacturers does everyone like.... Anyone know if one or another is better for OCing and any customer support good/horror stories?

From what I've heard Sapphire is one of the best. They're supposed to have great tech support, thats why I'm going with them in my new build.

as far as cases go- I just bought an antec 300, and its a really nice case. You can get it @ buy.com for $60 with free shipping, and it is not as "luminicent" as the antec 900- much more subtle, but still an amazing case. Great airflow
