The CrystalCPUID I downloaded yesterday can change voltage or multi. Any tips on how to set it up to automatically move through the states?

Okay; I have auto state management now engaged. Here is the present config:
5x200 until usage reaches 650 MHz (65%) 9x200 until usage reaches 1620 MHz (90%) unless usage is under 630 MHz (35%) 16x200 unless usage is under 1600 MHz (50%) I also found that this motherboard has an adjustable PCI-E slot Wattage control. I have upped that to 150 W from the default 75 W, and will be attempting to overclock the video card. UPDATE: CCC for the win! Once again, we see that CCC's auto-tune in Vista does not work right. Again, it is too ambitious. Auto-tune set me at 855/950; NEVER HAPPEN. I will tinker with it later.

It is not much, but I have appeared to successfully overclocked my 3850.
On my Abit, no matter what I did, I could not get the card to be stable in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare at anything other than 725/900. On this DFI, there is an option to increase PCI-E slot wattage. A bump from 75 W to 150 W seems to make me stable at 750/950. (It runs ATITool artifact scanner for an hour sans incident as well as Furmark for about 15 minutes. I saw 80º C and decided to pull the plug.) I will not try really tweak it until I get the second 3850 in there (1-2 weeks) however. What difference this makes in 3DMark06 is pending. EDIT: Makes no sense; it worked fine for three hours last night in CoD4; then crashed the video driver. Upon ATI recover finishing, it played another two before I went to bed. I open F@H today, and it crashes the video driver in about... a minute. It folded three units yesterday no problem! Whatever the case, this card does NOT like to be overclocked; back to 725/900 it goes.

If anyone is walking by:
Anyone know how to turn on Wake-on-LAN on a DFI LANParty DK 790FX-M2RS? Then manual says that it has it. However, no-where does it tell me how to turn it on. Further, me poking around in the BIOS could not find it.

News update. I just fiddled with my CPU overclock. Rather than 16x200, RAM at 800 4-4-4-12-2T-16-105ns, I am now at 13x255, RAM at 828 4-4-4-12-1T-16-105ns. I also decided to try changing the PCI-E slot frequency to 105 Hz from 100 Hz. Doing so permits my GPU to be 3DMark06 stable at 750/950.
Accordingly, I have FINALLY broken 10k in 3DMark06. PARTY! EDIT: New Crystal-n-Quiet settings are as follows: 05x255 (1275) until usage reaches 1148 MHz (90%) 09x255 (2295) until usage reaches 2180 MHz (95%) unless usage is under 1148 MHz (50%) 13x255 (3315) unless usage is under 2155 MHz (65%) EDIT again: It was not entirely stable at 254 FSB. So I upped the voltage 25 mV and then put it 255. Seems stable now.

Right now, I am running at 255x13 with a 75 mV bump over stock. (1.380 V according to the math. I forgot to check what CPU-Z was reading.)
As you can see from my sig, it is validated at 3311 MHz. It is currently running S&M 1.9.1. It is about 25% through the second of four memory tests, so I should have the final stability report up by midnight Eastern Date Time. Anyone who doubts S&M's reliability as a stress tester, I invite you to run it. Note, S&M has been known to break weak components and cause PCs to overheat to the point of flambé. Only run this if you are sure your PC is stable and in good health. Overclock.net, myself, and all our collective and disjoint affiliates will be be abrogated of any and all liability as a result of you running this software. You take it "as is" and any damages caused thereby are entirely your fault.

Brixfire is now S&M stable.
![]() To make S&M run on Vista 64-bit: disable desktop composition and visual themes; do not run it in XP SP2 compatibility mode. All that is left to do is hammer out the video card to be sure that is stable. At least, until the second one FINALLY gets back from RMA next week.
