Use: iTunes, mild gaming (CSS, Infernal, GTA:SA) -- no Crysis or anything like that. I used an 8600GT and it ran these games maxed out no problem. Case: No cheap case... Window proffered, not necessary. HD: 500GB You guys are best at finding deals and maximizing the value for $, can you help me? Thanks!

Why don't you drop in a phenom? There are some good combo offers on newegg with 790gx mobo+ phenom 9850 around 230$.

That wouldn't be a bad idea if you do any multi-tasking, even an X3 would help in that arena. If you don't much else besides game, listen to music, and surf the net, the extra core probably won't mean much.

Also mobos with SB750 overclocks phenoms pretty good. I've seen 9850 OCed to 3.4 ghz on air on ASUS M3A79-T. So basically any mobo with SB750 will push the current phenoms beyond 3.0 ghz easily.
