Default VGA Cooling upgrade - Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo

bought my first GPU cooler,
performance's great, check it out

Testing

and here's a quick chart of performance
this unit looks cheap to me, not very well leveled etc, but i'm glad it's a good performer and inexpensive

Damn, good job there Triple, move your video card up to your very top slot and take out the extra PCI slot covers on your case and zip-tie an 80mm fan. It'll suck that hot air pocket right outta there, it lowered my 8800GT temps by 19C at OC speeds.

Oh and REP +

Yeah, I'm using the accelero s1 rev. 2 with a FM121 and my 8800GT creates a pocket of warm air right above the card and below my zalman. Thinking about getting a slot cooler, or I might just try dcshoe's idea. I'm not gonna complain about 40c load temps, though.

i rememeber there's a connector allow u to connect to molex power connector instead of the board's power connector, that would proabably help it

Question

Thanks for the tip, but if I do that, how am I able to control the fan speed? the wire that connects to the display card has 3 wires - two for power and one for data. the molex one has only 2 wires..

thanks.

Apparently, you cannot control the fan speed anyway...
