Default What do you think for 630$

I'm thinking about building this. the total is 630 can anyone think of anything better?
I was thinking about going quad core but I dont think I need it I don't usually multitask at all at home. Strictly games and movies. eventually I will add a blue ray burner.

I'd exchange that Cool Master PSU with something like this

hec ZEPHYR HEC-750DR-AT 750W Continuous @ 40°C ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI NVIDIA SLI Certified NVIDIA HYBRID-SLI Certified - 9800 GX2 CrossFire Certified Active PFC HYBRID-SLI

I've had alot of success with this unit, and its very nice IMO.

Though I can say I have had alot of the Real Power Pro 550watt units fail on me. 4 To be precise. 2 DOA, 1 killed a system. And the other just fizzled out in a day. And it was more than powerful enough for the system. Nor was it under any form of load really.

And if you are spending that much on a case get an Antec 300

Also, if you plan to overclock then get a AMD Athlon 54 x2 5400+ Black Edition

Along with a good cooler like a Arctic Cooling 64 Freezer Pro

I would spend 20-25 dollars more and get the Corsair 750TX PSU, also I dont know why you are getting a quad PCI-E mobo, cuz thats sort of overkill for the fact that your other pc components will sort of cause a bottleneck? or am I wrong? Im not sure, other than that, everything looks fine .

A Mobos slots won't cause a bottleneck, thats between a Chipset CPU and GPU.

Though, if you don't plan on QuadFire, which there is no real reason to. Then get a Foxconn 790GX board or any other reasonably priced 790GX based board.

I got the case cause I always buy plain black cases I just wanted something flashier.. lol
I don't plan on OC'ing this thing eventually I will upgrade to a phenom and OC that. Then just get a POS board to replace my current rig. I always have 2 pcs.

And i didnt get a gx board cause i dont plan on running Vista, No vista no hybrid.

the basis on buying this is that in time i will run quad crossfire and a phenom overclocked thats why i got this cause i can upgrade it when i have the cash

I'd go for the 300, personally, if you look at my sig rig. I bought a cheapo flashy case. And it sucks. I am very dis satisfied. I wish I would have saved 30$ and gotten a 300.

Trust me, a nice case, and a nice powersupply are a must So splurge on them a bit.

Sorry to double post but I guess I should of been clear of my intentions. I dont think there are very many games i cant run oh high with dual 4850s(right now that is). So I plan on upgrading to quad crossfire when i need it and the phenom OC'ed, I will change out the psu at that time as well and use the left overs for the computer for my wife.

i agree with everything above said but go with this motherboard instead. It has the AMD SB 750 chipset, which is the best available right now and will allow for a lot better OC'ing capability

I will take that into consideration. The PSU is very important but cases are what u pay for them, they are based on what someone is willing to pay. I don't believe one case is better than another just cheap and not so cheap.

Note this is my belief not general consensus

Dual 4850s are awesome. They run most any game on high right now. You don't need Quad Fire, it doesn't scale well.

EDIT: As for cases, its more on cooling and space. Which the 300 does well on.

You could also look at the CM 590, another great case in that spectrum of price. And the 300 is in that same price range. I think its 50$ right now.
