[Complete] Kamikaze127's Tempest [56K No] - Overclock.net

Welcome, this is my re-build log for my new NZXT Tempest.

Comments are welcome in this thread.

I have some small plans for it, and you will see them in this thread, my Tempest is not like others.

Plans :

1. Move optical drives to the bottom of the case, hard drives to the top, and intake fans to the top. [Completed]
2. Change all stock fans except for the 2x140mm on top. [Completed]
3. Salvage the twin 12" green cold cathodes from my previous case. [Completed]
4. Green LED fans, and green cold cathodes. [Completed]
5. Re-wire front power LED strips to be green, use motherboard header instead of molex. [Completed]
6. Replace PCI covers with slotted ones (SilverStone AeroSlots). [Completed]
7. Replace old optical IDE drives with new SATA drives. [Completed]
8. Cable-manage to perfection (or as close as I can get). [Completed]
9. Take pictures, and make a build log to share my case.

10. Eventually make a video of the case, for a full perspective.

I just built my friend a comp with that case I LOVE IT. It's similar to a Antec 900 but FAR, FAR better, there is too many people that think it's a copy and pass it up. Ive had experience with the 900 and I think my 690 is far superior even when it comes to cooling. I think the tempest is superior to my 690 so do the math. Its very quiet, great airflow, and is wide (Antec 900/ 1200 have real problems with how skinny they are inside) I want one really bad now lol.

Good luck on your build with the best case 100 bucks will get you.

Well, here is the Tempest unboxed...

As I submit this post, I am shutting down "[The] Ticking Time Bomb" to move cases.
Next week I have some more goodies for the case (Green LED fans, exhaust fans, LED replacments).

That really good cable management if you ask me. Some people put a ton of time into cable management thats why they have incredible looking interiors.

BTW you thinking about any mobo and/ or cpu upgrades soon?
