Hey guys,
Building this computer for a friend to use to trade on. He has 5 displays (1 samsung 32", 4X19" Samsung monitors). Only going to be doing 2d imaging (graphs), no gaming what so ever. Would like a TV tuner also (needs to be Vista MCE compatable). Suggestions/Comments welcome. You are aware that all the video cards will have to run off the same driver?
You can not load two different Nvidia nor two different ATI drivers at the same time. And mixing/matching drivers from different manufacturers is a crap shoot. Some work together, some don't. I've gotten Nvidia drivers to work with 3DFX and S3 drivers. I'm urrently trying to get Nvidia to work with Intel...no joy, so far. Also your cards are more powerful than is required for running 2D trading apps. A 16mb PCI card will do that, charts and all.

for what you are planning to use the displays for, might as well look into matrox (dual/triple head to go)

Interesting, so we have to get three of the same card? What kind of card do I need for the 32"?

monitor size doesnt matter, and all the cards dont have to be the same, but they do have to run off the same driver (hence all nvidia or all ati). you could even run a couple pci-e cards and a pci card (or ice versa), just make sure they are all covered by the same driver. this isnt too hard since the major players use a unified driver architecture now.
you figure 2 decent cards will push 2 monitors each and then a pci or another pci-e can push the 5th monitor. set the cards to dualview and your are set
