I had to RMA the Phenom II x4 940 because it was DOA
also had to RMA the M3A78-T because the onboard audio wouldn't work correctly, and i called Newegg and they let me swap the 78-t for the M3A79-T Deluxe!!! So, as of now it is a waiting game until next week to recieve the new parts... The new mobo is due to arrive tomorrow and the new phenom II 940 should be here tuesday or wednesday! I can't wait!

Again, anyone have any advise on the initial install and settings?

Nice build man I'm jealous, in a good way :P
Sucks that you had to RMA, but looks like you will be getting something even better now
Make sure you install a nice 64 bit OS like Vista or Win7 (the driver support with Win XP 64 is terrible).
Enjoy your sweet build

Go download the win 7 beta, its perfectly stable and it will last you to august.
If you don't want to experiment with a beta, atleast go for Vista 64 bit.

Right now you have 4gb of sweet ram and a video card that uses 1-2gb, not sure about ur model.

This means that the max ram you will see is 2-3gb.

These is the ram i bought, i had great luck with my previous 2x2gb 800mhz corsair xms2 ram so i thought i would give these a try... Corsair seems to be a very quality brand, and this one came with a cool ram cooler just for ****s and giggles LOL Also, i haven't seen many complaints out of the Domminators http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145197

BTW, where do i download the windows7beta, and i am also worried about support for my settup with the windows7, are there already driver support for everything?

i still haven't made up my mind on which heatsink to get yet... I will probably use the stock one for a while until i decide for sure whether i am going to be air cooled or water cooled. I like the true and the noctua so far.
