Zalman CNPS9700 NT, W/red led 1 of a kind replaced fan with Zalman Fatal1ty CPU 120mm fan:

I bought the Zalman CNPS9700 NT. Its come with a green led not red. So I bought the Zalman Fatal1ty CPU 120mm fan (just the fan). The Zalman CNPS9700 NT fan is 92mm. So I cut and sanded the Zalman Fatal1ty CPU 120mm fan until there was no vibration. So now I have a on of a kind of Zalman CNPS9700 NT Fatal1ty Custom Edition.

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB:

I need to do some wire management. I just got the 2nd to the last thing today, that's in shipment. Still waiting on the OCZ Reaper DDR2 1066 Crossfire Edition 2GB Kit.

cool. why not just replace the green led with a red one, and put the fatal1ty sticker on it?

get a black motherboard, or red. would look better

Because the red led fan is 120mm and the heatsink fan size is 92mm. See the quote for links to the post I made about this.

They don't make red Zalman 92mm man fan for the 9700
http://sharkacomputers.com/fans92mm.html
But they do make a red Zalman 120mm not the 9700

Before I really stick with a set overclocked speed. I need to know if this custom CNPS9700 NT can handle the higher temp while being OCed. I need to know how far off the temps are from the custom to the retail.

What I need from one of you overclockers is. If you have a AMD Phenom II 940 + Zalman CNPS9700 NT is to post you benchmarking temps. Is your amd cool and quiet on or off? How did you go about benchmarking your temps

How should I benchmark the temps? I was thinking of using EVERST Ultimate to record the temps. Also test one being idle for about any hour, and playing Crysis (Full everything) for about an hour. Do you guys know of any easier way to to benchmark the temps?

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but, I think I will have a better chance of finding someone that has both of these in the "AMD CPUs' forum then I will in the "Air Cooling" forum. Because this forum is more active.

Actually the zalman 9700 is a 110mm fan, the zalman 9500 uses a 92mm. Very cool idea, I don't have the desire to sand a fan down or I would be all over that.

I meant remove the original fan, desolder the old l.e.d.s from it, and solder in fresh ones. innovative idea modding a 120mm down to a 92 though , just a bit more cumbersome in my opinion

also if you haven't tested it yet, prime9 is a good tool for maxing the cpu out.

I like where this is going

Yep it is 110mm. I tried that at first. It much easier to sand down 10mm.
