Default PROJECT::: Silence...

Well, by the name you can probably guess what I have done here. BY ACCIDENT!!! I bought some parts to throw together a tight budget rig, and guess what. I came up with this:

SPARKLE GeForce 7300GT 512Mb 128-Bit GPU
It is fanless, it doesn't require much power, it plays ETQW at high settings w/ AAx4 on 800x600, and it was $30. Can't go wrong with that. I was a little skeptical about buying a card from an off-brand like Sparkle, but it turned out great.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4850e 45w CPU
It requires so little power, that the fan doesn't hardly need to blow. This is absolutely perfect. Plus, I took it from the bland 2.5GHz to a more respectable 2.7GHz without any change to voltage or cooling.

Rosewill 530watt 80+ Bronze PSU
Well, it is from Rosewill's Green series. It is super quiet, it is super efficient, and it is cost effective at under $50. I honestly don't know how Rosewill does it, but they make some of the best products.

SO, in the end, I came out with a cool and quiet budget rig that fits my needs PERFECTLY. Did I mention I can't hear it even with both sides off the case? Yeah, that's right. Anyway, if you have any questions, comments or advice, please, let's talk about it.

I would also get something like this for a completely silent HSF (not using the included fan of course).

Might also want to get some 120MM low flow fans. Maybe these.

These should make it even quieter

Well, the CPU HSF is a good idea, but I have the case fans turned down. I can't really even hear them. I even have the sides off my case. My temps are ice cold also. My set-up just works. It's amazing. I love it.
