Default Folding Rig

Heyy guys. I have seen a lot of people building f@h rigs, and I think it has had an affect one me. I already have a hard drive, case, OS, and 9600GT. Here is what I have come up with(Help from gibsonnova74):

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130172

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103300

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130420

GPU2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127392

PSU: http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/...roducts_id=102

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820134797

Hopefully this rig will produce OVER 9000 ppd

Feel free to give suggestions! Thanks! (Disregard all post before #18).

Wrong GPU

If you're spending $100 per GPU then it needs to rhyme with "GT" and start with 9800 or 8800

I know that I had selected a 9600GT. I can't find a 8800GS or 9600GSO anywhere for a lower price. So I went for the cheapest.

Thanks for the responses!

Here is what I am thinking of doing...
2x PCIe Slot Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157139

9800GTX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130403

But I can't use the 9600GT that I already have because it will slow down the folding on the 9800GTX!

I would look at the GTX+ instead.
More PPD for not much more cost.

You can get 2 9800 GTX+ superclocked for $310 shipped and a $30 MIR ($280 total), or 2 of the above cards you linked to for $272 shipped.
Or if your getting just 1, the GTX+ is $125 AR shipped, or the GTX for $137 shipped (and only have a 90 day warranty on it)

Nice! I didn't notice the GTX+ for that price, thanks!

I heard something about having a higher card, like a 9800GTX+, and 9600GT on the same motherboard would cut the ppd of the 9800GTX+. Is this true? If it is, how much of a cut in ppd should I expect?

or you could get the 2 8800GS that are in the for sale thread for $66 each. Thats the absolute best buy you're going to get for folding cards

I have been eye'ing out that thread for the past week. Yet, the person that is helping me build this really doesn't think that this is a good idea. He is afraid that the cards are going the die after 3 months, and there is no warranty. As long as they have good cooling, they really shouldn't. If I bought those 2, I would put out the most ppd.
9600GT= 3700
8800GS= 4250 66USD
8800GS= 4250 66USD
Total =12200 132USD

EDIT: NO!! There is only one 8800GS left in Nitteo's FS thread!!
