Default 1200$ Phenom II X4 940 complete rig [Daschoover] Need help

This is my first build and I am looking to make a system purely for overclocking and high performance gaming (note that I am actually upgrading my monitor with this purchase that is equated in the end price aswell so I guess this is actually a 1000$ build). The Build I have as of now is only 940$ after MIR. So I need to know where I would get the most for the money in terms of FPS in games, speed of programs, multitasking (games with movies like while playing a passive game like a mmorpg) longevity of they system as a whole and performance in games. If I feel my system is safe enough I am thinking about folding I do it on my Laptop and PS3 because I don't pay for electricity my school does and I think they would be happy do donate to the cause HAZAHH.

Here is what I have thus far-

CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 940

Mobo- A79A-S 790FX (Combo with the Phenom together 310$) don't really want to replace this due to the savings

Memory- Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) + 2GB Xporter Razzo USB w/Futuremark 3DMark Vantage Bundle (52$) not sure what all the extras are but this was the best RAM for the price

Video card- Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit (135$) 12 hour deal limit 99 per customer

HD- Seagate 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache (65$)

PSU- PC Power & Cooling S75CF 750W EPS12V (89$) single rail

Case- Thermaltake M9 (40$) lots of airflow for cooling

CPU cooling- Rosewill RCX-Z5 (35$)

Display- Acer H213H 21.5" 5ms 1920x1080p 20000:1 Built in Speakers
(190$) built in speakers kind of made it a no brainer since i mostly game with headphones anyway. Now no need for speakers savings to put into performance.

DVD- LG 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner (25$) not a big deal as long as it can read games it wont even be necessary with the prolific use of downloading games Steam.

Keyboard- Logitech 967738-0403 (9$) all the keys are on it ok thanks
Mouse- Razer Deathadder (free, friend upgraded to a copperhead.) Used for about 4 months no mouse pad not in bad shape at all

OS- Windows professional 32-bit (8$) from college book store

Convienience of purchase is kind of an issue. So nothing from a site other than Newegg unless it is a good deal. Think I covered everything I am really excited about this system I have been using stock PCs up until this point and I did a butt ton of reading and learned. I learned everything from this site too cheers guys. Honestly if the rig above is close to good give yourself a pat on the back because this community educated me from not knowing my FSB from my DDR. Again thank you all. I think I might now have a new full blown hobby rather than an interest.

Thanks

There is no use in getting 4GB of ram unless you use 64bit. I would look to see if they sell Vista Home premium 64bit.

well in 32bit it will still use 3.25gb so its still better than buying 2gb.
but if they do have vista x64 id get that.
u could dual boot with win7 x64 and XP
and id get a samsung 1tb off newegg for $95 shipped.

Default Final build for [DasxHoover] high performance gaming rig

Just made the order thanks to everyone who helped me decide. I kept the whole rig under 1200 after MIR (moniter keyboard mouse everything).

Final results-
CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 940- Most bang for my buck

Mobo- DFI 790GX-M2RS- Changed from Foxconn after ample research on both boards. More than a few people complained about the Foxconn's BIOS set up and stability. I figured for my first ever rig I should get something more user friendly and stable. This one seems to be obviously superior to the Foxconn.

Memory- G.skill Pi 2x2- fast gaming memory goes with mobo and CPU. Combo with CPU for 269$

PSU- PC Power & Cooling S75CF 750W- no brainer cheap single rail and most wattage per $ while still keeping the total low

GPU- Sapphire 4870 512MB- open box great deal at 130$ I think I may have gotten the last one as it didn't show on newegg prior to placing my order

CPU cooling- ASUS Lion Square 92mm Vapo Bearing- Upgrade from the rosewill the heat sink seems to be larger and made out of a better material. higher end CPU cooling for 35$ after MIR Plus it looks BA not that that had anything to do with it. Slightly worried about the size but shouldn't be an issue I worked out the dimensions.

HDD- Seagate 640GB 7200RPM -cheap probably first upgrade site wait till I find a deal on a raptor.

Case- Thermaltake M9- mass amounts of air flow capabilities low 120mm LED fan in front 120mm exhaust and fan mounting capability in the window.

OS- Vista home premium 64-bit- nothing to special

Case fan- Scythe 120mm slipstream- mounted on the cases side window fan mount. Moves mass amounts of air a few people have had problems with them failing but I wonder how much of it is the product and how much is their system.

Moniter- Acer H213H 1920x1080 21.5" 5ms- has built in speakers and greater contrast ratio than its Asus counter part 20000:1 rather than 2000:1. Not the BEST gaming monitor I can get but I should be more than pleased and price was right.

Keyboard- Saitek eclipse- good reviews this will be the first non stock keyboard I own I have back lighting on my Macbook 2.4Ghz (for school and media) and love it for long nights of video and music editing things of this nature so I figure why not for those long nights of gaming.

Mouse- Razer Deathadder 1800 DPI- freebie cannot beat that

Optical drive- Sony Optiarc- all i need and cheaper than the LG if only by 3 dollars

Thermal compound- Artic silver- everyone raves about this compound figured it would be better than stock

That will be my PC. Just ordered the parts today 1297.93$ - 100$ of MIR comes to 1193.07 Pics will be on the way once parts start to come in. I am pumped for my new hobby. thank you

Credits-
OCN for all the resources you provided. A resource in its truest form. I came looking for a gaming machine I left with a high-end gaming PC for much cheaper than any retailer and a knowledge of computers and a new hobby thank you

All those who replied to my posts +rep for all of you!!

Notable accreditation
Auld- his post about AM3 stability helped me for go an AM3 board, also his thread on PHII mobos was quite helpful
A1cbbg427- guide to lowering boot speed would know NONE of that had it not been for you. Cheers
Acuma_Andy- Assuring me that AM3 was not the way to go right now
Oneluvballer21- Keeping Phenom II stepping up to date to help me decide on a mobo
rock3ralex- Directing me to the best GPU for the money
sandiegoskyline- Graphics card per price range really helped me know what was the best for the money
The entire deals page- have spent hours trolling thanks to anyone who helped not mentioned
AMD general- For teaching me how to maximize performance

Too much PSU... Youd be plenty fine with a PC P&C 610 or probably even a 500.

saves you about 50 bucks.

ONLY get the 750 if you ar going CF/SLI

Yeah, quite a few things.

1. Get OCZ Freeze instaed of AS5. You will thank me.
2. Get the WD Caviar Black 640GB HDD - It beats a VelociRaptor
3. Scythe S-Flex fans instaed of Slipstream - sleeve bearing fans are POS.
4. Get the Samsung or LG ODD - Sony Optirac is not Sony. These are garbage. I speak from bad personal experience.
5. CPU cooler. You can do better. We need to know what the size constarints are, but no, no, no for the Asus.
