Default 750 Southbridge

you really should get a motherboard with the 750sb. They have ACC which uses unused pins on the processor to allow the processor to sync to the SB. This will make overclocking much easier. I would try to get something with either the 790GX or 790FX chipset. The GX comes with 2 PCIE16x, and a HD 3300 onboard graphics which wont do much for games but is nice if your running multiple monitors. The 790FX has 4 PCIE 16x and no onboard graphics

BTY the SB is what controls harddrives, USB, Firewire, RAID...etc

Video Card:
I have the Sapphire HD 4830 and it is great!!! with CCC it will push 700mhz core and 1010 min memmory clock while never getting near the temps of other cards. With fan at 100% stress test wont push temp past 60*C for me. It does vent to the inside of the case so make sure you have good air flow. The card itself is single slot but the fan is pretty big so it takes another slot. Easy to set up crossfire in the future.
