1.376 V. That is +50 mV in the BIOS. If I remember right (and I cannot check right now from this PC) it passes FPU at 1.344 V. I will have to see if it passes the lot of S&M at the same.

It should pass it with 1.376 easily, but yeah try 1.344, it should lower the heat. Even then 55.5C seems a little high for voltage that's near stock.

Well, you gotta understand: that is S&M FPU. Nothing else will even come close to getting the PC that hot. It passes OCCT at around 50º C.

You're right, I haven't tried S&M yet, so I guess I factored out that part. I'll have to try that.

Is it just me or does any one else see the irony in the avatars between you two. Well it looks like a cat w/a flat top "bread" and a bird. I know Silly me
I just used the mx-2 and pressed to hard on the plunger and the stuff came gushing out. So I just spread it around my HSF w/my index finger. I think I may have applied too much mx-2... Oh well I'll try it that way and see what happens. Hopefully it don't come out and drool all over my cpu edges.

We are not that similar Hueristic...
N2Gaming: I fear you have too much TIM. The goal is a half-grain of rice dead smack in the middle. The pressure of the mounting system should spread to the edges of the processor. If it does not, check for concavity (which would prevent this) and, if flat, find out how to make the mounting mechanism tighter. If you spread it with your finger tip, you not only make the surface uneven from your finger prints, but add oil and dead skin cells into the TIM reducing its effectiveness. All: In the third memory test of four.

Yeah I'd use a latex glove to spread the TIM, don't use your bare finger.
Also, @blitz you are right, it does get a little more toasty with S&M, I just did a short test at stock speed and it got me to 49C (46 with P95), stock settings. I will OC to the same speed as you later tonight and see what happens. Also LOL at Hueristic and N2Gaming.

You are likely going to be cooler than me; tower coolers tend to outperform blowdown coolers. On the other hand, you would expect my PWM to be a fuzz cooler. (The hottest I have ever seen it was 36º C.)
N2Gaming: If you are the type of person who HAS to spread the TIM, use either a polyethylene bag (like what you would find in a Ziploc bag) or a credit card. Most latex gloves have particulate matter that can come off and interfere with the TIM. Better than your bare finger? Absolutely. But not perfect.
