Well you can yes, but once you go over 3.7GHz it automatically just shuts off CNQ.

Thanks, and that works for xp as well

I had never noticed that CnQ is auto turned off. Might be a difference of motherboards though. Then again, I never tried for 3.7.

The disadvantage of keeping CnQ enabled is that you cannot change your multiplier; it will always be 15x. I got around this problem with my Brisbane by using CrystalCPUID, but that software does not at present support K10s or K10.5s like our Denebs.

OH wow, So I'm gonna have to do all my overclocking with my multiplier at 15 if I want to use cool n quiet... I guess now all that is left is for me to install the amd cool n quiet soft ware. for xp x64

I just keep mine off in general, it doesn't make a difference to me, I think it turns off by itself in XP too (BIOS controlled).

In XP, you enable it by selecting "Minimal Power Management" provided that you have the XP driver installed for it. Vista has a driver pre-installed.

For me, Cool-n-Quiet makes a 3-5º C difference depending on my ambient.

I just finished filing online...

Now I can get back to pc stuff... sorry to bring all that up in your case mod thread blitz. it just so happened that this thread was the only one active with helpfull users visiting it.

Any way now I can get back to the task at hand. Overclocking my shtuff...

I guess I'll have to down load the Cool N Quiet driver from AMD for XP.

Do you know if I have to use any other drivers for my mobo or wait I probably have the cool n quite drivers on the mobo disk. I'll start there.

I forgot to post this last night; how silly of me...

Looking over my files, I have here that OCCT passed at 3450 @ 1.328 V, so it must have been that setting that F@H SMP died on. Maybe tonight I will try running SnM again at 1.344 V this time instead of 1.376 V.
