Okay... quick update.
My HD 4870x2 is still in shipping to Sapphire. I ordered a rheostat for my Ultra Kaze, it does not work. (See here.) I also ordered a PCI-slot hub. It does not use any PCI slots, but instead, it plug into a USB header on the motherboard. I have that installed, but will not know if it worked until the next time my PC is on, which will not be until the video card is back in.

I also did another mod which I cannot test the effectiveness of until I get my GPU back. I took metal duct tape (basically sticky, heavy duty aluminum foil) and affixed it to the open sides of my NH-C12P such that the only open part of it is out the bottom. Further, I sealed up any gap between the NH-C12P and the Ultra Kaze and the same. I will see what happens with temperatures the next time my computer is on.
In other news, I also just bought a new case. It is already cut for cable management. This means I will be changing the name of my computer (and this thread) but I do not consider it a major enough change to make a new thread; that only happens with significant hardware changes.

Good luck w/the Alumaductape. They actually use that stuff for heat related things like the underside of motorcycle gas tanks. I had to buy a roll of that stuff when I replaced my gas tank on my 86 Honda ATC 350X.
Regarding changing the name of your case mod. I was under the impression that a case mod was just that. Modifications made to a system case and all the componants in a case mod. Honestly I don't think it matters much one way or the other. After all it's your project and your the one who calls the shot's right?

Right, but physically changing a case kinda stretches how much you can still call it the same computer. However, it is a less severe change than changing hardware, because aside of temperatures, there is no change.
Besides, the current project name, like all of them, is a portmanteau. In this case, I have a "Dragon" platform in a "Xaser V Damier" case, so, "Dragonier." (The last one, "Xaser Brixfire," came from a "Xaser V Damier" case carring a "Brisbane" CPU with "crossfire")

That is just my anal-retentive, classification-will-set-you-free mentality at work. A place for everything, everything in its place, and a bone for every dog.

I've been using a computer since the 80286, which was already a few years old when I was born. Used to have this fun little paint program my dad coded up that is fun until you are 3 or so. The first computer I actually remember using was my 80386 (given to me when my dad bought a 80486; I got that rig when he got his Pentium I) and the family Amiga 500. After the 80486 I went AMD, starting off with a humble Slot A processor.
I did not start naming rigs until I joined OCN though.
