Now that you mentioned it I had to take another look and was able to see through the vent in the top of your case where the light would be. lol wow how did I miss that. I must not be astute enough to catch it on the first go around.

I just finished dimming that blue LED. For those curious how: take scotch tape and repeatedly place small squares over the bulb until the desired dimness. In my case, it was about 8. Then put the lens back on. No more eyebleeds! This will hold until I get the red LED installed.

Anyone know a place that sells mini-molex (FDD) extension cords? I need about 4 in the 6-8" range.

when you change the LED if you want to dim it you can just put a resitor in line.

It really sounds to me like you should get some wire and shrink wrap, all thos adapters are gonna be more hassle and still won't be the right length.

Well, I put up an opinion poll on when to go to quadfire. It seems most voters misunderstood the post. (Buy now or wait 4 months and save $60, thinking instead I was looking into going to the 58xx series.) The comments generally seemed in favor of buying now... so I just ordered my second HD 4870x2.

I was bored today, so I decided to do some testing. I unplugged everything from my UPS except my power supply. I then did some testing.

Cool-n-Quiet on; idle; 1000 RPM: 216 W
Cool-n-Quiet off; idle; 1000 RPM: 233 W
Cool-n-Quiet on; idle; 2900 RPM: 224 W
Cool-n-Quiet off; idle; 2900 RPM: 250 W

(From here on, CnQ is off; fans are all at 2900 RPM)

S&M FPU: 354 W
S&M PSU: 397 W
Furmark*: 614 W

* Furmark.exe renamed to ETQW.exe to avoid CCC throttling; extreme burning mode used on 1.6.5

5.1 A out of my outlet is pretty epic... I think it is clear my PC can never go in my parents' house again. Especially once I get the second GPU in there.

I am starting to wonder about my UPS... if I try to run FurMark while in quadfire, I expect it to up and die on me. It says it can only provide 865 W.
