Hope you get new RAM soon!
I'm dying to hear your thoughts about the Phenom II after you've got everything working alright!

These specs are preliminary and will be modified if I manage to find a better solution in the same price range.

Even with my gimped RAM I have to say I am quite impressed with the CPU. I seriously dislike the distinct northbridge right now. Sure, the RAM speed is easier. However, the RAM bandwidth is lower.

Blitz, the memory bandwidth won't be an issue once you get that processor OC up there. How much worse is the bandwidth compared to your Brisbane?

Good luck

DDR2-800 to DDR2-800 (both with a 200 MHz HTT; Deneb at stock 1800 MHz NB) gives my Brisbane a 10% edge or so if I remember the numbers right. Bumping the NB by 400 MHz adds about 6%, giving me still a 4% hole. Further experimentation will be in order, but I doubt I can get the Deneb to have a 3250 MHz NB which would be required to make it match the Brisbane's NB.

Blitz, your PhII 940 runs below the rated 6,400MBps memory bandwidth of DDR2 800? That is strange

I'm assuming you had all the sub-timings fine tuned ect?

Good luck

I keep mine at 1800MHz . Bercause I'm LEET.
And don't understand my mobo's BIOS.
Btw, 51c load is an excellent temp... mine's 30c idle and 55c load under 1.4v and no thermal compound.

Increasing your NB will provide a massive boost to bandwidth, at least, in my brief experimentation.
