I SHOULD be able to mount it the way they intended. My motherboard is listed on Noctua's site as compatible. I did not get the heatsink earlier because I had oversized RAM (my DDR2-800). My DDR2-1066 now installed is standard size RAM.
I am signing out to install the cooler now.

Lap Results
For those of you curious how TIM spreads after I finished lapping my Thermalright SI-128 back during the reign of Xaser TASER (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) I have taken a picture of the spread after I removed it from my Deneb.

That is the SI-128. I suppose if temperatures do not come down, I will need to check the spread of the new NH-C12P.
