Well, I have just entered the wonderful world of quad core processing. Accordingly, Xaser Brixfire is being retired. With my new Deneb mounted and my (defective) RAM in, I now dub my PC as Dragonier!
As I have said, my RAM is defective. This adds insult to injury! I ordered from Newegg on the 10th. They said it shipped on the 11th. 3-7 day shipping would indicate I would get it on the 18th. I got it on the 19th. My tracking number was not in the system until the 15th and even when it did, it never updated as to where the RAM was. NEVER again will I use Newegg's free shipping now that they swung over to DHL GlobalMail. But I digress. I put in the CPU, I put in the RAM, and boot it up stock. OCCT fails. Okay, so I try Prime95 x64 v 25.8. That fails. What the sod!? So I increase CPU voltage 50 mV. STILL fails. So I decide to drop the RAM to DDR2-800; and OCCT passes! What the heck!?!? So I put the CPU back to stock, and boot up Memtest86+. On the first pass, I had two errors on Test 8. It is presently running a second pass, and I have picked up six errors on Test 5 and one (so far) on Test 7. I have already gotten an RMA from Newegg (no RAM for a week! BOO!) but for my own sanity, I am going to do three full passes of Memtest86+ and print out the results for Newegg. I will update as I try tinkering with it after I get the new RAM. In the mean time... have some eyecandy:

So; those of you who know me know that my cases generally resemble birds' nests. That is, a massive ball of wires! I was very seriously considering buying a dremel to mod the case while I have the motherboard out, but I could not afford one on my (lack of a) salary.
What to do... hm... Well, my case has some extra holes in it already for EATX boards. They are too small to fit wire ties through (I have tried in the past), so I started thinking twine. Well, a single piece of button thread snapped. So I tried doubling it over until it was 8 strands thick... it held! Okay, now... how to affix... hm... tourniquet? I tie the ends together, stick a pencil in, and turn until taut. SUCCESS! Tape the pencil in place, and admire the result. It is not a CLEAN case, but it is CERTAINLY far better than I usually do. Also attached, you will find a picture of the Memtest86+ failures... After three passes, I had 13 failures, listed here: 000 9D63 F004 => 60FE D3C8; 0800 0000 (Test 8p0) 001 27A6 7704 => 8A03 A348; 2000 0000 (Test 8p0) 000 06D7 BAB0 => 0040 0000; 0100 0000 (Test 5p1) 000 07D7 BA90 => 0040 0000; 0100 0000 (Test 5p1) 000 9C47 ED70 => 8000 0000; 2000 0000 (Test 5p1) 000 9C47 ED50 => 8000 0000; 2000 0000 (Test 5p1) 001 2057 8DA0 => 0800 0000; 2000 0000 (Test 5p1) 001 2157 8D80 => 0800 0000; 2000 0000 (Test 5p1) 000 0DD7 9C04 => F758 9E4B; 2000 0000 (Test 7p1) 000 067E 2004 => E7C3 D43C; 2000 0000 (Test 8p2) 000 359F A034 => E7C3 D43C; 2000 0000 (Test 8p2) 000 96E3 C024 => 286A AC1D; 0800 0000 (Test 8p2) 001 0947 D684 => 5A09 3CA8; 2000 0000 (Test 8p2)

So, I notice my temperatures are higher than other Denebs. Accordingly, I thought it possible that my heat sink was not making full contact with the CPU since it was much easier to bolt on the Deneb than it was the Brisbane. I pull the heat sink off and see that apparently, I put too much AS5 when I mounted the CPU. It had started to shoot out the side. (NEVER have an audience while you mount.) So, I completely remove it all, put a lesser amount, and lovingly ripped of Txtmstrjoe's 2¢ mod with my 20¢ mod. That is, I used two-sided tape to tape two dimes into the HSF bracket. This way, when you tighten down the heatsink, it is as if the CPU is a little taller by the thickness of a dime making the connection tighter. Well, at least, that is the theory; my heatsink has springs attached to the screws to prevent it from being too tight.
So... I get everything back together... and find my temperatures are just what they were before I started. I think it is time to look into a higher CFM fan; ideally, one that is not much louder. Anyone want to recommend a fan that is higher CFM than an S-Flex without being too much louder? I am presently 63.7 CFM at 28.0 dBA if I recall correctly. *Looks up.* Yep.

I am starting to think I am the only schlub to get an 0852. Most of the ones in the database are 0850/0851.

I did a minor change. I moved my CPU fan off the SI-128 and instead moved it to the case door. Temperature at idle has decreased 2º C; load by possibly as much as 4º C.

i see why the temps dropped. by putting it on your door instead, the duct works as a BIG spacer that are normally used on fans, and allows the air to make full contact with the heatsink (there's a dead spot in the middle because of the motor)
glad to see your little mod worked out so well. (except now you can't run it open lmao) My 0901 chip runs ok I'm at 3.625 stable with 1.5v but I don't know HOW stable (I ran occt for 2 hours on normal, medium data set) it's stable enough for me. I like how you got those cables out of the way. good thinking.

You're welcome.
+ Post because it's easier than going to Thread Tools and adding a subscription that way. Also, diggin' the name. I know someone with a very similar screen name... >.>

Well, according to AMD, I now have a "Dragon" platform. I could have called it Xaser Dragon to be in line with my others, but I wanted to be different. Since I had a Xaser V Damier case, I did a portmanteau of Dragon with Damier; thus, Dragonier.
For the record, I am presently running OCCT on 15x220, NB = 10x, HT = 9x, RAM = DDR2-880. All voltages are at stock, which means for my processor I am running it 22 mV under VID. And last night I confirmed the temperature drop; during one hour of S&M's FPU test, it held a steady 51.5º C under 17.7º C ambient. I am now up to 18.3º C ambient, which should not have an utterly massive impact.
