Default New guy here, second build welcoming input/suggestions

This will be my second build, first one was back in 2004 so I've been out of the loop for some time. However I've been lurking around lately and reading up on whats what in these current times so I decided to sign up and hopefully get some input on my build.

I'm not really looking to do any major overclocking unless you guys have some recommendations in that department. I would like this beast to last quite some time as this is going to be a gaming pc. I play on a 24" widescreen @ 1650x1080 on all games.

I thought about an AM3 setup but those motherboards and ddr3 memory are more pricey no? If could you help me out there, that would be great.

(The ddr2 kingston ram in my build I found for $114 off at ncix)

So if you like, scope out my sig rig and pick away at it. Hoping to order in roughly 1-2 days, trying to stay under $1700 CDN.

Looks good to me, although I have heard bad things about OCZ PSU's.

Wait what? Dont you already have that Phenom 940 build?

Budget?

EDIT: NVm

I would rather go for a Corsair 650w instead of the OCZ 700.

TRUE over that Noctua but both are good.

No I don't have it yet, I put it in my sig as the easiest way to list it. Budget is $1700 with the OS.

Are you sure that's not a typo? If not, why do you choose to lower the resolution on a 24"? I'm just curious.

Well I currently have a 9800 XT from back in the day, I will have no problem cranking it up on a new system.

Swapped out the OCZ for a TX750.

looks a solid to me. but you may wanna hold until the release of the 945 and 955 for added ddr3 support in case you wanna future proof. and also the 4890. but that build is fine anyway
