welcome to the boards

looks good, but i'd change that PSU to one by Corsair or Antec. i don't trust CoolerMaster when it comes to PSU's

Thanks for replying. Long time browser, first time poster

Ok on the PSU, will change that to the 520w Corsair.
Any more suggestions?

also should I get some thermal paste for the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 or is what it comes with fine?

Usually its fine, but if you will be overclocking and gaming then you should try Artic Silver or OCZ freeze.

First off, let me second iceblade on the PSU matter.

Then, my only suggestion would be to go AM3 for 2 reasons:

1) future-proof so you won't have to change everything later when you wanna upgrade and find out the hard way that staying on the aging AM2+ architecture was a mistake.
2) won't cost you that much more
3) more headroom to oc

So...

Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P 112.11£

4GB (2x2GB) Corsair TwinX XMS3 DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600MHz) 74.99£

So in total that's 43£ more than your original build, but it's future proof and should be better at ocing (saying should coz I haven't laid my hands on that mobo, but according to many threads on different forums it seems quite popular)

You could look into getting an ATI card because you would easily be able to upgrade to crossfire in the future instead of having to use an entirely different card. I suggest the 4870 1GB.
