Also, i hated my ultra kaze so much that its not even being used anymore. it is very loud and even on a fan controller it clicks and ticks so its unusable for me.
You can probaly get rid of the clicking and ticking noise with some good ol' motor oil or graphite lube (not sure on that one, I only use motor oil) by removing the cpu sticker at the back of the fan, removing the cap and giving it a few drops. Should solve the issue, at least it did for me.

But it still would not stop how damn loud the fan is, which as we've both said is louder than what most would expect. I don't mind my kazes, but I don't think they were worth it over my slipstreams. One or Two degrees off my temps are not worth the constant noise. A fan controller solves this issue however for most.

Also that is a good deal for the 940, but really the 720's are better value for money in almost all circumstances. If the 720's had been around, I would've picked one up over my 940 even without the option to unlock the 4th core (my board has no ACC).

Will save your sanity That particular slipstream moves a lot less air, although it is also far quieter. The Y1225SL12SH slipstream's move a lot of air (110CFM) but are still too noisy for some.

just make sure you pick up the right one, the fan you listed is great but will move a lot less air over the ultra-kaze you were going to pick up (I'm assuming you were going for the 3000 version).

I like my ultra kaze. Its not too noisy for me.Then again I aloso have 7 other fans running so it dont seem that loud.LOL.Its a good bit louder than I was wanting to get but it does the job.Stick with the above suggestions on fans unless you like to hear the fan noise and paper on the computer desk flapping from the air.
