Default Suggestions for upcoming AMD build

I'm open to suggestions on a AMD build that should replace my aging and obsolete secondary computer (not my main sig-rig) link right here: (http://www.overclock.net/system.php?i=23001).

*I will be keeping the hard drives
*No operating system needed to purchase*

**New case will be the Antec 300**

I'd like to see possible tenders for AM3 (X4 or X3) and AM2+ (X4 Phenom II 940) for evaluation and the budget I'd like to stick to is 1500-2000 (threshold) Canadian dollars.

If that board is not good enough for you, try this one.

That is a pretty high budget so I would wait a little while for the 955 BE to come out and pair it with either the 790XT UD4P or the 790FXT UD5P from Gigabyte. Throw 8 Gigs of ram or so on the boards and let em rip! On air that would be less than 1500 I would say.

Thanks for all the suggestions and comments everyone. I have no estimated build date for this secondary system replacement at the moment and I'm just planning for a 'possible' upgrade. I might go the route of the 955 BE but I can't really choose which motherboard for the AM3 socket (M4A79T Deluxe or GIGABYTE GA-MA790FXT-UD5P). Both seem like great motherboards and to be honest I have never used a Gigabyte motherboard before for AMD.

Well I am biased towards Gigabyte but that is just me. I just got the AM2+ version of the 790FXT-UD5P but haven't set it up yet so I'm not sure how it performs, but in my opinion the 2 oz. copper ground and power planes are what help more that relatively good power delivery.

From designing circuits in the past, it really doesn't matter how well you can get 5 volts to look like 5 volts at the output of the power management, noise might kill it by the time it needs to be used. Having more copper in the ground plane and power planes of the board layers allow for better dissipation for noise giving a much cleaner signal.

That may just be the science and engineering supporting Gigabyte boards, but from a user standpoint, their BIOS is just amazing to use. So to sum up, my vote goes to the Gigabyte!
