Original assembly:
* Athlon64 X2 5200+ * Asus M4N72-E motherboard (nForce 750a SLI) * Enermax PRO82+ 525W power supply * Floppy disk drive * Lite-On DVD writer * Seagate 500 gigabyte hard drive * 4 gigs OCZ DDR2-800 (not shown in pictures presently) * 2 x 8800GT video cards (also not shown) * Generic $25ish case What doesn't fit, you wonder? The case! :P My project is to assemble all this expensive equipment into the cheapest case I currently own. It's a castoff from my roommate's old computer which at one point held an AthlonXP 2100+. Thus the name "SLI Sleeper". One would not expect a gaming rig to be in a case normally seen housing a Celeron. (in car enthusiast terminology, a 'sleeper' is a car not normally perceived as being powerful, being purpose-built with performance parts such as a crate motor, etc)Since cooling will be an issue, I plan to leave the case covers off, so when operational, there will be no fancy extra fans or the like. Revised Build: * All parts as above minus floppy drive, X2 5200+, 2 x 8800GT * CPU replaced by an Athlon II X2 250 * GPUs replaced by 2 x 9800GTX+ * $25 cheapo case from ~3 years ago junked in favor of an Antec Three Hundred case Pictures of the original build are described below: The first is a comprehensive general shot; the second is a close-up of the motherboard box, and the third is a shot of the inside of the case just after I opened the motherboard box, and then realized I should probably open this project log.

Update: Memory is on the mobo, and the motherboard and PSU now in the case. Follow along as I install these components.
![]() In these pictures you can see the stages of getting the PSU in. The screw holes didn't line up exactly so it was a bit of an adventure figuring out which screw hole aligned the best, and then securing it from there. ![]() I wiggled the PSU afterwards to check and it didn't move, so I'll leave 'er as is for the time being.

In this set of pictures you see the memory going on the mobo and the mobo into the case, and yes, it was a tight fit but it DID go in.
