Overclocker in Training

Tbh in my experiences GPU coolers never really make MASSIVE differences to your temps. And as for the sound card. Only really go for one if you want top quality sound. Most onboard do a great job and you'll only really notice a difference if you have a great sound system.

OK, I saw the GPU coolers in so many sig rigs on here I thought it might be something I'm forgetting. Well as soon as newegg can get my parts here, I'll start building.
After I get it going, I am going to start the overclocking. I've looked around in BIOS before and seen the different settings you can change. Do you increase a setting one step at a time, save and exit, and then boot into windows to make sure it is stable? Or can you increase it 2 or 3 steps up(or down) and then do the save and reboot? I will read the guides more closely and look for threads about my board and cpu, but I wanted to get that off of my mind.
