I saw this PC reviewed in a computer magazine, for gaming it couldn't keep up with a gateway in the benchmarks.

No, it's not good. You can build a much better system for $500. If you are using it for gaming, go with an E8400 instead of that Q8200. I'll see if I can build a better system on newegg, gimme a few minutes.

I WANT YALL TO PLZ MAKE A SS OF A WISH LIST ON A SETUP FOR A GREAT GAMING COMPUTER FOR LESS THAN 500

THATS KINDA MY BUDGET

A good dual core will outperform a quad in games every time unless you get something like a Q9550. If you are on a $500 budget there is no way you will get good gaming performance on a quad. I suggest something like an E8400. I am making a system for you right now I will be done in just a minute.

Not for games, no. A good dual will outperform a basic quad every time hands down.

Here is my build. Easily 5x better than the one you listed and costs the same. It is $13 over budget but has $40 of mail in rebates to make up for it. Total cost after MIR: $473.
