Original post is here.
After finding out that the Atom was worse then I thought it was, I was recommended AMD and I think I'm going that way. Here's what I currently have. My budget it $200 dollars and I came in at 0.33 cents over (after mail-in rebates) ![]() Comments?

i would suggest using the stock cooler and get another 2gb of ram, to bring the total to 4gb, that is if your plan on running vista/win 7 on this machine, if just xp then the 2gb is fine.

It'll run (probably lol). Definitely the cheapest parts out there without completely mismatching specs. Just don't forget the DVD drive.

No stock cooler on an OEM, and I checked, that's the cheapest he can go for dual core even when adding the cooler on. Next up is ~$50 or so.

Yeah, I'm recycling the Monitor (17" 4:3 AOC) the eMachine PS/2 Keyboard, the HP PS/2 Laser mouse, the eMachine speakers, and the printer.
