Default New AM3 Build - Recommendations?

Hey all,

I'm building a new AM3 system, mostly for gaming. Specs so far:

CPU: Phenom II X4 955 BE
CPU Cooling: Megahalems (+ AMD retention kit) with 2x Scythe S-Flex SFF21G. TIM would be IC7.
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
Memory: OCZ Platinum 1600MHz AMD Low Voltage 4GB (2GBx2)
HDD (OS + Games): 300GB VelociRaptor.

I will be using the power supply and video card from my sig. I plan to switch to ATI (and CF) later on, but want to wait till the DX11 cards. Besides, my GTX275 should do alright for the time being as well.

Games will be played @ 1900 x 1200, Samsung T240, btw.

Do you guys have any recommendations, changes you would make? Maybe use 4GB instead of 8GBs of RAM? (DDR3 is so darn expensive :P) Please though, do NOT suggest Ultra Kaze 2/3000 for my Mega - I really don't want to get those. As a final note, I live in the Netherlands so keep that in mind when recommending stuff.

Thanks in advance!

Agshlee

Edit: Switched to 4GBs of ram instead of 8, and changed the fans from Slip Streams to Gentle Typhoons.
Edit2: Changed the fans to S-Flex, and changed the CPU Cooler to megahalem instead of a TRUE
Edit3: Changed the 1333MHz OCZ Platinum to the 1600MHz OCZ Reaper, to take full use of the 1600MHz support
Edit4: Changed TIM from AS5 to IC7.
Edit5: Memory changed to 1600MHz OCZ Platinum AMD Low Voltage. Will be clocked down to 1333MHz

Slip Streams will burn up on the T.R.U.E.

Get Scythe S-Flex or Gentle Typhoon fans.

I see, didn't know that. Probably will be S-Flex then, not sure if I can get Gentle Typhoon fans. Thanks!

What do you do on your machine? 8gbs RAM is overkill if you don't do any HEAVY multi-tasking.

Honestly, if you aren't rendering/producing/CADing/etc, 4gb will be just fine. I only have 2gb at the moment and I don't even fill that up (I game, photoshop/indesign, itunes, firefox, etc.)

@Criminal & Cavi: Thanks, I will change that to 4gb then. Saves me another ~75 euro as well. =) +rep.

@jimibgood: The Gigabyte board only supports CF so I don't think that'll work :P I just don't see the need to go CF right away.. Though, I am currently only running games on 1680 * 1050.. Would 1900 * 1200 require much more from my graphics card? That is, to the extend where one GTX 275 might not be able to keep up?

Thanks again to all =)

Edit: Changed the configuration to 4GB ram instead of 8, and switched the fans to the Gentle Typhoon ones. Any more ideas?

nothing. that's a very sweet build right there. but if you can find a megahalem, it'll be better than a true for just a few bucks if the price is right. it's even cheaper than a true in my area
