there is a thread on here somewhere where some dude tries out some kingston hyperX triple channel modules in an x48 mobo, just running 2 sticks of course
in theory they should do amazing... ncspec can get his to do like 2100mhz @ cas7 1t or something lol

i wonder when there will be better ics than the elpida hypers.... they are just so beast... i can't imagine what they are going to get next

I'm probably not gonna take a stick out. Unganged is nice and healthy. The only thing where unganged gets sorely beated by ganged mode are bandwidth benchmarks.

Just ordered 5 Yate Loon D12SL-12 red blades/black shroud 120mm fans.

Should be here by Friday, will post pics of installation.

I'm planning on putting two exhausting on top, mod the 5.25in drive bay to take one in front, intake, put one on the bottom, intaking air to the GFX, and one on the side panel on top of the CPU (there already is a side panel fan in the GPU area).

I reconnected the top panel stuff and managed to keep the same cable management by routing them through the back. Will post a bunch of cable management pics when the new fans arrive.

The only thing that's irritating me right now is that the 690's audio header has two modules, one is HD and one is 97. The HD is the only one I need, so can I cut off the 97 connector? (I'll cover the live wires with electrical tape).

Got and installed the 5 fans. I also absolutely raped cable management. The backside got uglier:



But that did not increase the bulge at all. In fact, with smart planning and a lot of work I was able to decrease the overall bulge
