Default Quo Vadis? *4890 installation*

Project Quo Vadis?

Afrodisiac's New Rig and Sig Space

Finally got my new rig .
Name changed from DragonBunchie to "Quo Vadis?".

Specs
Processor: AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE
Motherboard: Gigabyte 790XT-UD4P
Memory: G.Skill 6GB(3x2GB) DDR3-1600MHz
Video card: XFX Radeon HD4890 (vanilla)
Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB
Disc drive: Samsung 22X SATA DVD burner
Case: CoolerMaster CM690
Power supply: Corsair VX550W 550W

This is replacing:
Specs:
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200 Windsor
Motherboard: Asus M2N-MX SE
Memory: 1GB(1x1GB) Kingston DDR2-533MHz
Video card: BFG GeForce 7950GT
Hard drive: Hitachi DeskStar 400GB
Disc drive: TSScorp 16x DVD burner
Case: Caseless
Power supply: Bestec 300W generic

Peripherals (the only new thing is the mousepad):
Mouse: Razer DeathAdder
Keyboard: Logitech G15 V2
Audio: Logitech XMP USB headset/Creative Inspiron 5200 5.1 speaker system
Mousepad: OCZ Behemoth Regulator (replacing a Rocketfish eXactmat rip-off)
Monitor: LG 20.1" 5ms 1680x1050 LCD

Boxed and unboxed pics (No 4890! It is currently OTW but not here yet!)

Assembly process

I would have put more pics but I was too caught up taking care of cables to think about taking pics of the stuff half-mounted in the case (HDD, PSU, DVD drive)

Completed/Cable Management (Temporary BFG 7950GT)

That is all for now. Thank you and leave comments/questions.

Comments on the build
It went very smoothly. I had the thing POST in under an hour. Very quiet case, I have the 3 fans daisy chained to one PSU molex and they are whipser silent. The only thing I can hear right now is my stupid 7950GT which has a busted fan that buzzes. Everything POSTed and was recognized fine. The cable management looks bad because of the stupid front panel connectors, but there are no PSU cables going across the motherboard at all. It's just that dumb cluster of my daisy-chained fan connectors and the front panel connectors.

Sig Space

Thanks Xeb

I worked really hard on the cables but the front panel connectors are just impossible to hide/manipulate

Overclocking this was pathetically easy. At 3.4GHz, voltages on auto, stable, will Prime now.

*edit*
LOL I was so wrong. I BSODed within 3 seconds of writing the above message and had to clear CMOS to continue :<

You're so lucky you got your stuff in. I'm assuming you got your stuff from NCIX (720BE+790XT for $250 is too hard to pass up :P). Ordered my rig on Thursday, and still has not arrived at the Vancouver NCIX store.

Did you unlock the 4th core? Your running dual and single channel?

Running unganged. My BIOS revision doesn't have ACC, and I don't even want a 4th core. And yes I got the combo from NCIX

I solved the cable management problem in a way to make OCNers proud; removed everything I didn't want/need. I will post the new pics with my 4890.
