Default AM2 HTPC: J.T. Kirk

Okay, so the name is a little far-fetched. I didn't know what else to call my new HTPC . Any other ideas are welcome.
So I'll start with the parts:
Apevia X-Master black HTPC case
Biostar TFORCE TA790GX 128M
Athlon X2 7850
OCZ Blade 2x2GB 800MHz
WD 640AACS Green
Lite-on DVD Burner
USB Card Reader
Logitech Wireless Keyboard/Mouse combo
Anywhere IR Remote
Aaaaand A Rosewill 15' HDMI Cable

It will be here Thursday . For now, I'm going to be keeping it close to stock with the stock cooler. I'm going to attempt to unlock some cores though .

640 gb HD?? they have 1tb's for under $100 now. Also i'd go with a BT keyboard. wireless one's don't seem to have enough power to reach across a room. I use the Dinovo Edge but it's very expensive. Also i'd switch to an AM3 build with ddr3 ram. I just built my new htpc with an am3 810 quad core and 2x2gb ddr3 ram for pretty cheap. I wanted a strong enough PC to last a couple years and with windows 7 being a huge memory hog i wanted something fast. Slow htpc have slow reaction time and get really annoying when trying to change a channel or play a movie. before I had a 939 3500 with 3gb of ram running win 7 RC1 and it could barely manage. My new system is amazing and with my case it's completely silent. Don't always go for the cheapest stuff when you can get a lot more for a little more.

Well the parts are all ordered, shipped, arrived, and set up!
This thing is aaaaawwwesome.
Is $25 bad for an HDMI cable? It was the cheapest 15', which is the shortest I can go.
I am also extremely happy with the keyboard. It is the only wireless keyboard that I have used that can keep up with my typing (I'm not saying a blutooth or higher-end RF wireless one wouldn't be better, but this is just fine). I love the media controls, and the mouse isn't as horrible as I was expecting.

The case is definitely a bit cramped, but that was expected. The PSU had a bit of a whine the first day, and I was worried, but that went away and it is now silent.

I could get the remote working in XP, but it works great in Vista.

I couldn't get any extra cores unlocked in the 5 minutes I spent on it, but I couldn't find any tutorials for doing it so I just sort of forgot about it for now. It's not that important.

I just need some help getting songs into Windows Media Center (in Vista). There's no drag-drop like in WMP, but there is a "watched folders" function that adds media from selected folders. For some reason its not adding any of my music . Not sure if there's something special I have to do.

Just add the folder with all your songs i.e, The main music \dir that should do the trick, and if you have alot of Music to import\watch then Media Center needs to actually archive them if you will, then when its done searching you should see your music. I have a ton of music and it was searching in the back ground and didn't show until it was completely done searching. i think it took about 3 minutes for all my music. cheers
