Thanks for the advice about the hard drive, you're right - I probably could do fine with 320GB. Oh, and about the peripherals, it's actually cheaper online to buy those. And since I'm getting everything from newegg, my cart will ship together, costing me only between 20 and 30 bucks for the entire set of hardware (including the mouse and stuff).

EDIT:

After looking at a 320gb hard drive, I'm going to stick with my 500. The hitachi I chose is cheaper than the cheapest 320gb hard drive on newegg.

It expires next June. By then I'm sure that there will be some sort of crack to remove the RC's expiration, and if not, then I'll just buy 7.

True, but the download won't be available after August 20th, so you'll need to dl it before then. And starting in March your machine will reboot every 2 hours (assuming no one has found a way around this by then)

It's okay, I'll burn the installation disc before August so that I'll have it on hand. They don't stop giving out product keys until March. And knowing the internet, I'm going to safely bet that there will be a way around the restarts and expiration by that time. And if not, I'll just suck it up and buy 7.
