Default Need some suggestions!

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/Pu...umber=14368108

Its my first build, and I didn't mean to make it a super computer. I just want to make sure it won't be a crap computer and to see if there are some things I need to check.

Looks good to me. If you're planning on overclocking, you'll probably need a CPU cooler. Also, for about $20-$30 more, you could get the HD4890, and it would definitely justify the added cost. They overclock like crazy.

A great cheap cooler is the Scythe Mugen 2

It ranks up with some of the best air coolers, and is only $36.

For $20 more or so, you could upgrade to DDR3, seeing as you have an AM3 MoBo and CPU. Also, a question for everybody, is an aftermarket CPU cooler a must if one doesn't plan on OC'ing? Because AMD Phenom II's do include their own cooler, I believe. Thanks!

Dark knight sucks, the Mugen 2 is far better:

Mugen 2 is better at:

Cooler temps
Price.

Dark knight is only better in looks, size, and installation.

Yep, and DK's can't face the right way in AMD setups.

@OP - I'd suggest getting an SATA burner. They're only a few bucks more and IDE looks terrible!

EDIT: Okay, I just whipped this up. It's AM3/DDR3, has SATA DVD burner, 500 gig WD caviar black, saves you a few bucks . Everything that I didn't list above is the same as your original build.

DVD Burner - $26
Case - $50
Hard Drive - $70
Video card - $150
PSU - $72.50
TIM - $6
RAM - $65
CPU HSF - $37
CPU+Mobo combo - $205

Total - $681.41
