I havn't build computers in 6 years so I am a bit out of the loop. I was overclocking AMDs when you had to use solder to unlock the chip. LOL
Anyway I am looking to stay under $800 for the system. This will mainly be for Photoshop and photo stitching with a little Left4Dead for sanity. I spent all day reading up on Tom's Hardware and here; below is what I cam up with please comment. I will be overclocking a bit but stability is more important to me. I will be installing Windows 7 on this machine to see if I like it. I would like to be able to upgade here and there (GPU/RAM) with no plans for building another system for at least 5 years. So far so good, but what I would have done is get the 500GB version of the Western Digital Caviar Black and put the savings on a HD 4890 instead of the HD 4870

Pretty nice, but my only gripe would be to change the AS5. You can get better results with OCZ Freeze, IC DIamond 7, Noctua NT-H1, just to name a few.

Spend $40 more and get the 4890 from ASUS. Best $40 you'll spend

really great budget build but as others have said, spending another forty for a 4890 will be the BEST thing you can do for that rig
