Default AND Phenom 2 SYSTEM

Hello, OCN!

I’m building a computer for a friend. He got 700 from his graduation present so the budget is 700 dollars. I’m trying my best to configure the cheapest Phenom 2 CPU build system. So far this is what I have in the system. If you notice anything that can improve the price for cheaper please let me know. I’m open ears to all ideas and suggestions.

Thank you!

Note: Budget is 700.

I'm not going to be overclocking, however I would like to have a non stock heatsink. Please if you know any good AM3 Heatsinks please let me know.

Note: Before I purchase the items I have listed above are these all compatible?

Thanks

Dark knight would last him a long time, and would still be ok should you decide to OC the rig later on.

How about this build, it has better mobo, case, psu, better 4870 than yours build...I know its @242 so it's $42 over the budget wish the shipping was cheaper. But you could get some cash back thru bing or fat wallet.

The motherboard in the build i posted is very good. Maybe $42 over is put in good use since the Vaport X 4870 is good too. The CPU+mobo+ card is a very good deal imo.

Also use Bing Cash back when you purchase from Newegg. You could get 2.5% back from $700 which would be around $18. Good money.
