not sure why u need such a high wattage thermaltake psu. personally, i hate thermaltake just cause i had two blown out on me .. id rather much grab a 650w+ antec psu, corsair, seasonic, or fsp. as for the ram, id grab the g skill just so that you'll have a lot of headroom to oc your processor . ( drop the ram speed to 800mhz and just go up from there). the cooler master scout looks a lot sturdier and nicer than the nzxt. as for the coolers, f*ck zalman 9700 ( this is coming from a guy who owns it). grab the xiggy dark knight, not only does it look better, but it performs better at a cheaper price. i suggest grabbing an hd4890 videocard just cause youre gonna have a crossfire mobo. otherwise, everything looks good

I would just go with the AM3 platform instead of the AM2+, if you are, get DDR3 RAM along with it too.

As for the CPU Cooler, the Xigmatek Dark Knight no doubt, casing would be Cooler Master Scout, and as for the graphics card, a GTX 275.

mmk well personally i would forgo the Superclocked 260 and just get a regular OR a 4870/4890.

HDD wise, if you need the extra capacity, go for the seagate. If you don't, go for the WD.

CPU HSF: Xiggy DK definitely.

case: i would personally go for a CM 690 (cheaper too IIRC), but out of the two i'd pick the Scout.

everything else looks great. nice build

Your "finalized" choices are weak except for the 955. Thermaltake power supplies are ridiculously overpriced mediocre units. GTX 260 for $190? Rofl. You must either be in the dark about current GPUs or a hopeless fanboy. AMD chipsets are superior to Nvidia chipsets (as Nvidia has proven time and time again they cannot make chipsets). Pick up a nice, cheap 790X/GX board that will most probably overclock better than the 980a you have lined up, a 4890 and a Corsair TX750. Money saved, better rig = profit.

For the hard drive, pick up the Caviar Black 640GB. For the CPU cooler, I would recommend you get a Scythe Mugen 2 instead of the other 2 choices you have, but from your choices, the Dark Knight hands down. For case, I recommend the CM 690, but the Tempest is fine. Build quality of the 690 is a tad better. If you're building new now, don't go AM2/DDR2. Change to an AM3 mobo then decide on RAM.

still mate, thermaltake's don't really have the best rep. I accidentally overlooked that in the OP, but i would advise a quality Corsair, PCP&C or even antec PSU.

thinking a bit more now, if this is for gaming, i would consider getting a cheaper CPU (X2 550, X3 720 or just a cheaper X4 9 series) and higher end GPU (GTX 285 or 295 if you can stretch it that far).

well another factor is that i saw a combo for the thermaltake and the gtx260 on newegg so i was like hmm why not, and with this mobo i can down the line up to sli once the dx11 cards come out so the 260 would be cheaper as well.

and i dont know i kinda dont see much of a need to go ddr3 with the supposed 8~% increase
