Yes but if you have a better power supply with extra power it will run at less of a load and therefor get better efficiency. Just a heads up, not saying its the best thing but I would pay the extra, as for the 4870 yea thats a better deal although I like to stick with good companies and xfx has a lifetime warranty.

Yeah, I definitely agree with you regarding the graphics card.. I like XFX, I have a 260 from them, its a great card.

I'll throw the recommendation in there regarding the power supply, if it were me. I would do it..in fact. The first build I made had the Corsair 650 you just linked me to. However he said it was too much and asked me to cut it down, which is why I came up with this. I tried to keep it cheap+great performance. I'll email him the build now, and throw in the recommendations.(I changed the gpu out from the GTS250 to a 4870.)

Now...what should I charge? I'm going to build it for him...do I even charge? He's not like a friend or anything...but my gf/aunt/uncle tell me I should charge him at least something. What you guys think?

I do builds for my friends for free. I've done a few private builds, and I've taken around £10 for each of them. ($16 btw ), if you can live with yourself for asking for more, then go for it, but it's not how I roll.

That's what I was thinking...around $20. I love building computers and find it pretty fun...at first I told him nothing...but he's not really a 'friend' and my family feel I should charge him SOMETHING...but I think $20 would be great...basically supper right?

Well you can charge him by the build or by hour. I charge 25 or so an hour cause im not trying to rip people off but I would just charge him by the build. Depends on your situation and weather you want to get more clients from him. Charge him cheap and hell tlel his friends. Also might want to think about setting it up and stuff for free if you know the guy, who knows who hell tell if you do a good job.
