itll take atleast a 5870 to "max out" crysis depending on what your thinking "max out" is. IMO a playable minimum fps is the deciding factor with lots of AA and 1920x#### res

Swap the video card for a 5870 and a little bit more powerful PSU for future expansion and you're all set.

Not possible. And by maxed out I think that means 16x QAA. I can barely do that (but it is playable, about 40-50fps) and I spent WAY more than that.
However, you will guaranteed get a great experience at 1680x1050 on your 22" monitor. Crysis doesn't have to be maxed to look great.

It's for someone who has a 24 inch dell monitor.

Get yourself a nice HD4890 and you will be able to at least play well on your 22"
Or you can do that. The 5870 is a beast! Your going to be like :3 when you get it

Depends what you consider "max out" but for 16XQ AA, then no, maybe 2 of the new 5870s will do it, and maybe the GT300s when they come out.
At this point, if you are fine with 8X AA than 2 GT285s will do it at ~45FPS 1920x1080 with Very High or a custom config. I get 45 FPS Avg with DX10 and 49 FPS Avg with DX9 sing 8X AA and MSTER config at 1920x1080. Without the MSTER config I get 42 FPS Avg with DX10 and 45 DX9 on Very High
